EvalFest: Breaking through Creative Blocks: How to Create Data Centered Stories Webinar

Contributors: Katherine Nielsen; Karen Peterman; Todd Boyette; Amanda Makulec

In this webinar from September 15, 2016, Amanda Makulec of John Snow, Inc., joins us to present “Breaking through Creative Blocks: How to Create Data-centered Stories”.

Stories are a compelling format for sharing evaluation data, but often when we put pen to paper it’s hard to think through how to design a story of our own results.

During this webinar, we’ll walk through the elements that make a great story and various story types that you can use as a model to help you bring more storytelling into your evaluation reporting. We’ll touch on both how to craft narrative and visual stories for sharing results from your science festival evaluations. The content will build on the data visualization presentation at the annual EvalFest meeting and attendees will receive a deck of “story starters” to help get your creative juices flowing.
