Science Events Spotlight #3
If you've never organized a live public science event we want to encourage you to get out to a few and see how it goes. Or you can take a few minutes and listen to Kacie tell it like it is. Sometimes there can be glamorous moments where you're witnessing someone engage with science for the first time, and other times you find yourself wearing the same shirt for five straight days and wrangling a 26 foot inflatable heart around the concourse of a minor league baseball stadium. It's never a dull moment in this field. Kacie Baum is the director of the Nebraska Science Festival and one of the funniest people I know. She makes me feel like I'm right there on a windy night in the midwest, just dying for my shift to end but also not wanting the night to wind down because everyone is having such a good time with science.
But don't let me be the one to convince you - Kacie really does tell this one best.
