The mission of the MSU Science Festival is to celebrate the many ways science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (the STEAM disciplines) touch our of everyday lives and shape our future, broaden public access to informal learning environments, create meaningful direct interactions with scientists and inspire the workforce of the future.
Events of the Michigan State University Science Festival are offered by a growing network of Michigan’s finest science, engineering, art, and math professionals, and are coordinated by Michigan State University. The MSU Science Festival is a proud member of the Science Festival Alliance.
The MSU Science Festival is a Free, multi-day, annual celebration that highlights the fascinating fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The Festival features talks, demonstrations, tours, open houses, guest speakers, hands-on activities, and much more! You will have the opportunity to explore the latest in cutting-edge science; discover concepts that have been influencing new discoveries for centuries; exchange ideas with researchers, and participate first-hand in experiments that turn ideas into reality.
Many first-timers arrive thinking the Festival is for kids only, but they are quickly surprised to discover countless programs and presentations everyone wants to see- from the oldest to the youngest, from the novice to the knowledgeable! We encourage you to thoroughly explore the schedule page, and note everything everyone wants to visit- this way no one in your party misses out on anything!
The Festival works in partnership with a number of outstanding institutions, museums, science centers, and STEAM professionals across the state; so in addition to events being offered on the E. Lansing Campus of Michigan State University, presentations are also offered in a variety of locations throughout Michigan.
