Madison Fun

From 7:00pm on Sunday, 5/4, to 4:00pm on Tuesday, 5/6, the International Public Science Events Conference schedule is packed. But if you find you have free time other than that, June is a wonderful time to be in Madison, and Madison is a wonderful place to be. House on the RockTaliesinThe World’s Largest Culvers (on the drive from Chicago): International Crane FoundationDevil's Lake State Park (local note: "National Natural Landmark. The Nature Conservancy designated it as one of the 77 Last Great Places in the world") Olbrich Botanical Gardens (local note: “a gem”) Wisconsin Dells waterparks Memorial Union Terrace (local note: "Grabbing a beer from the long list of craft brews here is the number one thing to do in Madison in the summer. You'll need to be accompanied by someone who works on UW campus--we are at your service and happy to help:-)") Dane County Farmers' market (Saturday mornings only) Rent a sailboat or a kayak, canoe, stand up paddleboard, pedalboat, etc. at Wingra Boats or Brittingham Boats Check out the UW Arboretum Paddle on the Wisconsin River or the Sugar River Enjoy hundreds of miles of bike trails and scenic, low traffic roads by bike. Get a brat at State St. Brats Visit the Mustard Museum in nearby Middleton
