The Columbia Memorial Space Center launches a month-long, community-focused celebration of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) called the City of STEM. During the month of April, the Space Center presents STEM programming throughout the community, engaging diverse audiences at various locations around the greater Los Angeles area, becoming the regional hub of awesome science.
From programs aimed at young families, like Yuri’s Kids Day, to an event geared specifically for young adults called Pub Science, to a concert featuring science themed bands, the City of STEM aims to engage the whole community it serves. This is LA’s only and largest science festival with its main event taking place on Saturday, April 6th. That day, which will be free to the public, is our Big Science Fest, a high point of the month that brings together hands-on activities and nearly 60 science partners to the Space Center like SpaceX, Natural History Museum, and Aquarium of the Pacific, STEMup4youth, Two-Bit Circus, Boeing, and MANY MORE.
